From communication to social project leader
In 2006, I founded Adversa Communicatie. What started as a traditional communications agency quickly grew into a place where I was involved in everything from urban renewal projects to communication training, websites, and webshops. As an interim manager, I worked in various organizations, with a focus on results and humanity.
In 2019, a turning point came. I decided to spend some time volunteering in Cambodia. At Angkor Hub Academy, together with others, I set up a coaching program for young talents. That felt right. Back in the Netherlands, I founded the Smiles of Hope Foundation and remained involved in the work in Cambodia.
Social domain
The turning point in a career
During the coronavirus pandemic, I joined the GGD, where I worked as an interim manager on the national vaccination campaign. There, I refined my skills in working within a crisis structure, quickly setting up new locations, and managing diverse teams.
Since then, I have increasingly focused on the social domain. For example, I led the reception of Ukrainian refugees in the municipalities of Heusden and Epe.
What drives me? Purpose, bringing structure, helping people move forward. Bringing joy to work for others and myself. Nieuw Vuur.
Years ago, I read a small book that had an unexpectedly big impact on me: Fish!.
No complicated theories, but four simple principles about attitude, fun, presence, and making a difference for others.
Perhaps that is the essence of Nieuw Vuur.
